PC’s for People Donates Laptops to Graduating Class of New Legacy Charter School
Wednesday, June 8th marked a significant milestone in the lives of nine high schoolers, when they received diplomas as New Legacy Charter School’s premier graduating class. An Aurora-based charter school offering a tuition free high school education to pregnant and parenting teens, New Legacy has helped pave the way for bright futures for their students.
With each senior completing their graduation requirements and receiving a diploma, other members in the community took notice. One being PC’s for People, a non profit dedicated to providing computers to low income families, and also a current tenant of the Urban Land Conservancy. Upon the students’ graduation, PC’s for People gifted a laptop to each graduate.
Peter Van Genderen, an Advisory Board Member to the organization, noticed the common thread between PC’s for People and New Legacy. “A big part of the reason that PC4P felt so strongly about the project was ULC’s huge commitment in making the school happen – impressive,” Van Gendersen said.
It is ULC’s honor to connect such amazing organizations within our community, and we are always thrilled to see the hard work our partners put forth. We want to extend a huge thank you to PC’s for People for their generosity, and a congratulations to the New Legacy Charter School class of 2016!
