Family Tree, Americorps, ULC Host First Community Meeting at Oxford Vista

On Tuesday evening, Urban Land Conservancy joined Family Tree and Americorps to host a community meeting at our new Oxford Vista property. ULC accepted the real estate donation of the former Excelsior Youth Campus on June 30th, after the organization closed business operations in late 2016. We are currently in the process of identifying capital needs and building maintenance requirements for the campus with plans to make major capital improvements in the future. The property will serve as the headquarters to Americorps NCCC Southwest Division and Family Tree’s GOALS Program.
We hosted a community meeting for the neighbors of Oxford Vista to answer questions and address concerns. We also used this time to inform local residents of our plans for the campus moving forward, and took suggestions for the future from local residents. We were incredibly impressed with the turnout for the meeting, with nearly 150 local residents and community members in attendance. We were very thankful to everyone who asked questions, made comments and voiced their support for the future of Oxford Vista. It is reassuring to know that we have such dedicated, caring and supportive neighbors in the community, and we look forward to hosting many more meetings down the road. Thank you for everyone who attended!
