The forum was hosted at the Dahlia Campus for Mental Health & Well-Being in Northeast Park Hill, a neighborhood facing significant affordable housing challenges (like many communities across Colorado). The forum was moderated by Kathi Williams – former state legislator and former Director of the Colorado Division of Housing – and included the following legislators:
Sen. Beth Martinez-Humenik (R-Thornton)
Denverite covered the forum, noting the complexities associated with affordable housing, as it affects so many areas of a person’s life. “It’s not that House Majority Leader Rep. KC Becker, Sen. Their conversation was wide-ranging because housing touches on so many aspects of our lives. That includes the traffic that held up some of the participants Monday. As moderator Kathi Williams, herself a former state representative, pointed out, people searching for homes they can afford are forced to move further and further from jobs in the city center, putting more cars on the state’s already strained highways.” – Donna Bryson for Denverite.
