ULC has released a report titled “A Partnership to Uplift Teen Parents,” authored by Alan Gottlieb, that documents the development of a charter school that benefits two generations simultaneously.
New Legacy Charter School provides high school education as well as a daycare facility for teen parents and their children. This report describes how the school was only made possible through a unique partnership between ULC and New Legacy.
The report also emphasizes the need for a School Facility Fund, a resource desperately needed in Metro Denver. Such a fund would create and support a scalable, replicable model for school facility development. The Denver region struggles with this challenge today, and given skyrocketing commercial real estate prices, it will only grow worse unless something is done to address it.
