ULC Celebrates 2nd Annual NE Walk Fest
ULC joined hundreds of health conscious community members this past Saturday for the 2nd annual NE Walk Fest. The event was created to increase neighborhood walking behavior, promote pedestrian safety, and educate on neighborhood walkability within and throughout NE Denver. Walking creates more vibrant and safe neighborhoods while improving personal, social and communal health!
There were a variety of themed walks all departing from Holly Square, we took advantage of the history of NE Park Hill walk as well as the Library walk that featured a history of well known authors who lived in the neighborhood.
Did you know there were 3 separate airports in north Park Hill before Stapleton?? (For those new to Denver, Stapleton was Denver’s international airport before DIA) Thanks to our walking tour, now we do!
ULC and our HARP partners were thrilled to be a part of this event for the second year. It is amazing how much you can learn about your community by simply walking around it.
Stay tuned for the next exciting event happening in Northeast Park Hill, on June 7th the Safe Summer, Safe Holly campaign will begin!
