Job Title: Communications Intern FTE: 12 hours per week
Reports to: Director of Communications FLSA Designation: Non-exempt, hourly

 

SUMMARY

ULC’s Communications Department is seeking an intern who will work closely with us to elevate and further the reach of Urban Land Conservancy’s brand and impact to serve as an organizational model and to attract investors and partners for the purpose of expanding the inventory of affordable real estate in Metro Denver and throughout Colorado.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Communications Intern works closely with the Communications team, but also may work independently. The role performs a range of duties, including, but not limited to:

  • Support cross-departmental work with Communications and other ULC areas of focus
  • Work with website management organization to maintain and develop ULC’s website content
  • Support management and expansion of ULC’s social media presence
  • Support policy/advocacy initiatives on behalf of ULC, including researching and tracking legislation and related trends
  • Support audience engagement and expansion, including ULC’s social media and direct marketing audiences
  • Support ULC’s video/digital storytelling for online platforms and interactive presentations
  • Support event planning and implementation as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may require:

  • Frequently required to be in a stationary position during scheduled work hours
  • Frequently required to stand
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A combination of education and experience may be considered

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-years of college coursework completion is preferred

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience with social media required
  • Demonstrable experience with written and verbal communication required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and demonstrate a good work ethic

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly rate is $16.66
  • 12-15 hours per week
  • Bi-weekly pay
