ULC is excited to announce that the demolition of the vacant warehouse adjacent to the Tramway Nonprofit Center is complete! Thanks to an incredible demolition crew, the tenants of Tramway did not have to suspend programming and were not negatively impacted despite the extra noise and dust. The CEO of Nokero Solar, a long time tenant in the building commented, “Nokero was not impacted at all. They were amazing. I can’t believe how quiet and dust-free it was.”

As the Tramway Nonprofit Center continues operations, ULC will soon issue an RFP for the development of the now vacant land we call Cole Train. Due to the quickly changing environment as a result of all the development in Cole and surrounding neighborhoods, one of the pressing community needs is affordable housing. Although ULC is unsure of what the specific development will be, we will ensure that it will provides community benefit for generations as we plan to retain ownership of the land in perpetuity.

ULC will also require that our future development partner engages the community to solicit feedback on any proposed plans, and we will do what is necessary to support that outreach. We are very excited for the future of the Cole Train property, as we believe it provides an incredible opportunity to positively impact the Cole neighborhood and its residents. If you are actively interested in the future development of the site, please check in regularly to our website for updates! As always, our team is more than happy to answer any and all questions regarding future development, and you can reach out to us directly via our contact page.
