On Thursday, April 19th, New Legacy Charter School hosted their 3rd Annual Spring Fundraiser. Urban Land Conservancy was honored to participate for the third year in a row, and we continue to be amazed with the incredible milestones New Legacy achieves each and every year. It was a packed house at this year’s fundraiser, which included a breakfast, gallery walk, welcome video and student speakers. Jennifer Douglas, Executive Director at New Legacy Charter School announced that the school’s Early Learning Center was rated 4 stars from Colorado Shines, placing the center at the top 12% in the state of Colorado! All this in just three years!

Hearing from the students reminded us why we are so proud to call New Legacy our partner. Carolina Cisneros Diaz of the Class of 2019 became a mother at 15, and did not think she would make it to college. New Legacy has helped reshape the future of  both her and her child.

“I’ve learned of the power that knowledge gives you, and non one can take that away from you,” Carolina explained.

This year’s fundraiser was clearly a huge success. Thank you New Legacy for continuing to provide quality education and support to pregnant and parenting teens and their children day in and day out. We are so proud of the work you do, and can’t wait to see the impact you continue to make on future generations.
