On Wednesday, June 6th, New Legacy Charter School celebrated their 2018 graduation ceremony. This is New Legacy’s third year of graduates, as the school first opened for the 2015-2016 school year. This year’s 18 graduates were recognized for their hard work, and positive leadership both in the classroom and for their families. Jennifer Douglas, the Founder and Executive Director of New Legacy Charter School, welcomed the audience and her most recent graduates with a powerful message.

“Here you are,” Douglas stated. “Proving that teen parents are strong, resilient and capable of fulfilling their dreams.”

This will be Douglas’ final year with New Legacy. In a recent newsletter, Douglas explained that her staff and board has worked for over one year on a succession plan, and she feels confident in the school’s future moving forward. Following her welcome address, four graduates spoke. Each speech mentioned the incredible support system New Legacy staff has provided to their students over the past three years, and immense gratitude resonated with each message.

On behalf of ULC, we are incredibly proud of New Legacy’s success. Congratulations to all of your recent graduates!
