Coalition Releases Report on Failing Aurora Public Schools
Today a coalition of community and education groups, including Urban Land Conservancy, released a report highlighting the lack of academic performance within the Aurora Public School system. Currently only 5 out of 10 students are graduation from high school in the district, and only 2 attend college. A lack of quality schools and support from the district and other agencies is causing performance to continue going down, taking opportunity away from kids who are a part of Colorado’s 3rd largest school district.
This report defines the enormous need for investment into Aurora. The district is making efforts to turn around its low-performing schools, this report demonstrates the need to speed up the process.
