Urban Land Conservancy June 2014 Update
The Calvert Foundation and ULC Announce
the “Ours to Own” Initiative in Denver!
|
On June 26th, the Calvert Foundation launched the Ours to Own Denver campaign at the Clinton Global Initiative and celebrated with its area partners that evening at a local restaurant. Ours to Own provides the opportunity for residents to invest in our community, with an investment starting as small as $20! Partners include: Community Reinvestment Fund USA, Colorado Enterprise Fund, The Colorado Health Foundation, The Piton Foundation, Wells Fargo, and Urban Land Conservancy. A representative from each partner made a quick speech, including ULC’s CEO and president, Aaron Miripol, who shared an example of one way in which we hope to use the Ours to Own funds to invest in the Westwood neighborhood. Jen Price, CEO of Calvert, shared her dream for returning here in one year with a room full of thousands all of whom have invested in the initiative. Learn more about Ours to Own and how to invest here. The future is so bright in Denver, we have to wear shades!

Nonprofit Facilities and Resources Survey
|
We all need space to meet our missions! Occupancy costs are the second largest expense for our sector after personnel. Our collaborative partners at Denver Shared Spaces are working with The Nonprofit Centers Network to survey the Colorado nonprofit sector to understand our space needs and resources. With just 15-25 minutes of your time, you can add your organization’s perspective to this process by taking the survey linked here. The first 100 respondents will be entered to win a $100 Amazon gift card. We hope the information will help you with space decisions as well as provide insights to public and private decision-makers, funders and the community at-large. Thank you for helping us advocate for the space that you need to serve our communities and better serve organizations like yours.
